Life education is not just about death, but also about the feelings of facing loss. Children are actually constantly facing loss. The death of a loved one, a close friend moving away, a broken toy - every day is a recurring experience of loss. Discussing life education with children is challenging, not only because of the reluctance to do so, but also because of the difficulty in knowing how to begin. Picture books are undoubtedly a wonderful communication tool. This book is a heartwarming and touching story that also offers concrete methods to guide children in dealing with sadness. At his grandfather's funeral, the child reminisced about him, saying that if his grandfather were here, he would tell him a story about the big bad wolf and imitate its howl. Here, the child suppressed his grief by recalling the moments he shared with his grandfather. It wasn't until he saw his grandmother grieving as much as he was that he finally broke down in tears... Grandma came up with a way to comfort the child. She used a red pencil to draw strawberry trees that Grandpa had planted on her and the child's arms; the strawberries symbolized their longing and sorrow for him. They washed the strawberries off in the bath, then drew them again; they swam away and washed them off, then drew them again. The first time the strawberries disappeared from their arms, the child cried. The second time they disappeared, he knew Grandma would draw them back, and he stopped crying. As time passed, until one day, the grandmother and grandson no longer cared so much about drawing strawberries on their arms. They went to Grandpa's garden, picked real strawberries, and remembered the times they used to pick strawberries together. Grandma and her grandson smiled as they remembered Grandpa. At the same time, they took care of Grandpa's beloved strawberry garden together...
