Guy Pearce and DeWanda Wise star in this Western thriller directed by Ned Crowley. In Arizona in 1859, former slave Sarah (Wise) and her daughter are shunned by their neighbours, who fear the little girl who seemingly brings death to anyone she touches. Sarah seeks help from Bender (Pearce), a doctor and a broken man, who agrees to escort her and her daughter through the lawless wilderness to Ross (Bill Pullman), a faith healer Sarah hopes can help. However, soon after they begin their journey, they discover that others are seeking the girl and will go to great lengths to take her... The cast also includes Raoul Max Trujillo, Jack Alcott and Joanna Cassidy.
