Although she feels like she doesn't fit in with her family, Astrid discovers that she has inherited her mother's powers of being able to see and speak to the dead. She soon finds herself summoning Beetlejuice after she is lured to the afterlife by Jeremy (Arthur Conti), to whom she has taken a shine. When Lydia learns that Jeremy died following a police chase after he killed his parents, she reluctantly seeks Beetlejuice's help in saving her daughter.
